Qualification & Title of Award

The following awards are offered by the College in its postgraduate program:

  1. The Master of Arts in Theology degree is awarded to those who successfully complete the prescribed academic program. The award is accredited by the NSW Department of Education and Training. The abbreviation of the award is M.A.(Theology). The standard is that of a masters by coursework degree for graduates in the same discipline at an Australian university.

  2. The Master of Theology degree is awarded to those who successfully complete the prescribed program of research (see Section 4.3.7). The award is accredited by the NSW Department of Education and Training. The abbreviation of the award is M.Th. The standard is that of a masters by research degree at an Australian university.

  3. The Doctor of Philosophy degree is offered both in association with the University of Sydney and with the University of Western Sydney (UWS). The abbreviation is Ph.D. The standard is that of a doctorate by research degree at an Australian university.

  4. Those undertaking doctoral or post-doctoral research through other institutions are invited to apply to become visiting scholars for a period of one term full-time.
